About Me

Sitting high atop Forrester Pass in the John Muir Wilderness, this last year, my life changed. I realized all that I had endured…had led me to this mountaintop. My heart beating fast. My senses fully awakened in the moment. I was alive. My connection with life intensified dramatically. I knew that my path had changed forever.

I have wandered about the past 10 years. Kind of lost…feeling no direction. My mantra was…"what is my path?" I studied massage, Aromatherapy, Buddhism and Ayurveda. I got certified as a Personal Trainer. I surfed the ocean and ran the mountain trails. I traveled and surfed in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Mexico. I meandered to Costa Rica and studied yoga. I ran the beaches morning and evening. I read and received healing from local healers. I ventured to Bali and studied massage. I volunteered . I met with a traditional healer. I studied local herbs and medicines and spent a couple of weeks with a Holy man. He taught me ancient yoga and meditation methods of his culture. On I went to Nepal. In Nepal I worked with orphaned children. I worked with the elderly and the street orphans. I studied Tibetan Buddhism. I became sick and lived for 2 weeks in an Ayurvedic Institute in a small village. Back at home I lost many friends to cancer. Many, many friends. I cared for some of them. I was lost.

Flying home from Nepal earlier than I had anticipated because of a severe bronchial infection I decided I wanted to hike in California since I couldn't hike while in Nepal. I researched and discovered the John Muir Trail. I took a short solo hike in the Aloha Lakes area of Desolation Wilderness. I was hooked. I hiked the John Muir Trail. My path was becoming clear.

I heard about a gathering of long distance hikers. I attended the ALDHA West annual get together. I didn't know anybody. After three days, I felt as if I had found my tribe.

I begin the Pacific Crest Trail in April. The mountains are calling…I heed the call…I have found my path.
